GuardianUTM: A Comprehensive Approach
Our cutting-edge GuardianUTM platform is the foundation upon which our comprehensive suite of solutions is built, offering a 360˚ service to the UAS sector that includes drone operators, access managers and national ANSPs to ensure safe, compliant UAS operations in controlled and uncontrolled airspace.
The GuardianUTM platform consolidates real-time data to provide a holistic view of low-level airspace. This foundational layer facilitates the permissioning, management and situational awareness necessary for the secure integration of drones and eVTOL aircraft and is used by those managing airspace and land access, as well as national airspace authorities.
For airspace and land access managers, our GuardianUTM Approval Service offers a seamless, digital solution for drone flight permissions. By designating your ‘zone’ as ‘UTM Ready,’ the zone manager provides clarity to drone operators on necessary requirements and a straightforward process for requesting permission to fly.
"Getting the Approval Service on GuardianUTM changed the game completely. Straightforward applications take significantly less time. Even ones with issues are much easier and faster. It has shaved off so much time.”
Matthew Rice, Heliport Manager at London Heliport
Zone Managers have the flexibility to set up specific requirements for their zones, including the ability to charge for the recovery of administrative costs associated with approvals. Moreover, necessary documentation such as Flyer ID and insurance can be efficiently processed and uploaded within the platform. This level of standardisation not only ensures safety and compliance but also offers clear guidelines for drone operators, fostering a secure and efficient operational environment.
Altitude Angel’s commitment to safety extends to drone operators who rely on our suite of advanced flight planning solutions. Among these tools are Drone Assist, the UK’s most widely used flight planning tool, dronesafetymap.com, and the Operator Portal. These allow drone operators to plan flights with safety and compliance in mind, even allowing for digital approval requests in ‘UTM Ready’ zones (those registered on the Altitude Angel platform).
Whether within a UTM Ready zone or not, all submitted flight plans are visible within the Altitude Angel product suite. This transparency benefits airspace and land access managers who gain insight into flights near their managed areas, while drone operators can identify ongoing operations, fostering a safer airspace for all.
"I’ve been using Altitude Angel’s planning tools since I started operating commercially. They feature very heavily in my planning and are a good way for me to quickly risk assess the airspace before I start a flight. I like the fact that they give me the ability to quickly see air and ground hazards. I find it a nice robust system. Easy to use, and I swear by it.”
