London, UK: Altitude Angel was last night crowned winner of the Aviation R&D Award at the prestigious Aviation Industry Awards UK 2024, held at the International Convention Centre, Birmingham.
The Aviation Industry Awards acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of all UK aviation stakeholders, from airlines and airports to cutting-edge manufacturers and innovative suppliers. The awards showcase the innovation, dedication, and leadership which drive the industry's success.
The judging panel, comprised of experts from different constituencies within aviation, including academics, journalists, and industry leaders, voted Altitude Angel’s Arrow platform, through its deployment in Project SKYWAY, as winner in the Aviation R&D category. In awarding Altitude Angel the win, the judges recognised the company’s track record of innovation and its ability to demonstrate the high degree of commercial potential.
Altitude Angel's Arrow platform is a state-of-the-art ground-based Detect-And-Avoid (DAA) solution. The cutting-edge technology fuses input from a sophisticated array of sensors located on Arrow masts, to give an unparalleled view of the sky encompassing crewed & uncrewed and cooperative & non-cooperative aircraft.
Phil Binks, Altitude Angel’s Head of ATM, said: “We are honoured to receive this award. To be recognised alongside some of the industry’s biggest names is a clear demonstration of our growing influence within aviation and our technology’s ability to enable a new generation of airspace users.”
